How To Cook Rice With Coconut Oil To BURN More Fat and Absorb HALF The Calories

American citizens consume 500 more calories per day than needed, while other experts claim that we eat 100% more food than we really need. When compared to 1970, we can conclude that average American eats 20% more food today, according to the USDA.

Or in other words, people in the USA eat one extra steak sandwich every day. So, no one should be surprised that obesity is a major problem nowadays.

Sudhair James from the College of Chemical Sciences in Sri Lanka, found a new method of cooking rice, which is supposed to cut the absorption of calories by 50-60%, which he demonstrated at the National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

Apparently, he managed to make the rice a resistant starch, able to resist sugar or starch absorption from going into the bloodstream.

On the other hand, resistant starches (RS) pass through the small intestines undigested and become food for the good microbes in the large intestines. Rice, as well as other starches, are very digestible and their conversion to sugar (glucose) in the blood is very fast and promotes healthy colon cells.
RS also help the fat-burning.

Coconut Oil is the Secret Ingredient!

The method of increasing the resistant starch content in rice is quick and simple:

  • Add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to boiling water.
  • Once the coconut oil dissolves, stir in half a cup of rice.
  • Simmer for 40 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked.
  • After that, refrigerate it for 12 hours before consumption.

How it works?

When the rice is cooking, the coconut oil gets inside the starch, which will help the sugar resistant to the digestive enzymes where it can be digested.

Letting the rice cool for 12 hours, will turn the rice into RS and when you reheat it the RS levels won’t be affected.

However, further researches have been conducted in order to see if other oils have better or the same effects on rice and which rice are the best for maximum calories reduction.

Make sure not to overheat the rice since it might disrupt the blood sugar levels. You can also use other products that are nutrient rich and fiber rich, which will help you in the process of weight loss such as: vegetables, leafy greens, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, quinoa, squash and cauliflower.
