Here’s the recipe for this amazing flaxseed gel which you can use for both your hair and skin.
Making Basic Flaxseed Gel
- ¼ cup Flaxseeds
- 1 cup water
- Fine sieve
- Large bowl
- Empty glass container
It’s best if you soak the flax seeds overnight. The soaking will reduce the cooking time and increases the final amount of gel yield. Use the same water, add some more if it’s needed and bring it to boil. Once the water starts boiling add the soaked flax seeds and stir occasionally, reducing the flame. When you notice the seeds stop sinking the water should change consistency and become a foamy gel. You can then turn off the heat because otherwise you will overcook the flaxseeds and get a hard gel. This will make the straining a hard process. Filter the flaxseed water-gel through a fine sieve. Wash the vessels immediately to avoid a sticky residue. Transfer the gel into a glass container and use it as needed. It can be kept n the fridge for 2 weeks. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oils after preparing the gel.
